MOUNT BRYAN

MOUNT BRYAN

Mount Bryan is situated 15km north of Burra on the Barrier Highway.

Surrounded by picturesque hills, it is a small farming community which produces cereal crops, cattle, and the famous stud merino sheep.

Stop over at the Sir Hubert Wilkins Memorial Park, with complimentary facilities, including playground, mini golf, BBQ, gazebo, toilets and picnic area.

You could not miss the Hallett 2 Wind Farm, consisting of 34 turbines west of the Mount Bryan township. As the turbines are located on private property, you have the opportunity of viewing a turbine blade up close at the wind farm information site, located adjacent to the park.

Mount Bryan was the birthplace of Sir Hubert Wilkins, one of Australia's most daring aviators and explorers - the first to fly over Antarctica and take a submarine beneath the Arctic ice.

Visit the beautifully restored Wilkins cottage as part of the Dare's Hill Driving Circuit. Keys to the cottage are available at the Mount Bryan Hotel.

Mt Bryan is only 10 minutes from Burra. Visitors simply take the Barrier Highway north of Burra, which runs through the centre of town.
